Steel tracked across eight trucks.
A growing foundation-repair crew was tracking steel, jacks and pier stock across eight trucks on paper and in someone’s head. Material walked off jobsites, and estimates went out without knowing what was on the shelf.
The problem
Stock lived on paper and in memory across eight trucks. Material walked off jobsites, estimates went out blind, and the office never knew the real count. The fix was first planned as a $15,000 custom software project — then rescoped to a one-week build.
What I built
A jobsite-first inventory system: the field crew logs material from a phone on site, and the office sees the count update the same minute. It’s tied to manufacturers, vendors and per-truck stock. Scoped down to a focused $300/hr one-week build that shipped exactly what they needed and nothing they didn’t.
The result
Running in production, with 136 items tracked live across 8 trucks and 30 manufacturers. The crew owns the code, the database and the server outright — no monthly platform fee on a tool they depend on daily.
