From a Phone Number to a Real Brand: A Local Landscaper's Website
Plenty of good tradesmen run the whole business off a phone number. The work is good, customers tell their neighbors, and the phone rings. That works until the calendar fills up.
That's where a local landscaper was when we started. Lawn care, hardscaping and seasonal cleanup, all of it running on word of mouth. Growth was capped by how many people he could talk to in a week.
The real problem
He had no website. A new customer couldn't see his work or ask for a quote without calling first. Every lead had to come through a conversation, so his calendar decided how big the business could get.
What got built
First, a brand people could recognize and remember, instead of a number saved in somebody's phone.
Then a website built around his services. Each service has a clear description, there's a portfolio of finished work, and there's a direct way to request an estimate. We secured the domain and planned it alongside a companion project.
Then a client portal at portal.lawnskapers.com that sits next to the main site.
Where it stands
Both are live: lawnskapers.com and the portal. New customers can now see the work and ask for a price without picking up the phone first.
It's owned outright, with no monthly fee to a site builder.
Why trades need this
When you're good at the work, it's easy to think the website can wait. But someone who wants a quote at 9 at night and doesn't want to call might go with whoever had a form.
You don't need a fancy site. You need one that shows the work and lets someone ask for a price, and you need to own it.
If you're running on a phone number
I build websites and business systems for owner-run businesses in the Upstate at a flat $300 an hour, bought outright before work starts. Tell me about your business, or read the full case study.
Custom websites and operational systems you own outright. $300/hr flat.
